In Focus Theater Department is proud to present Alice in Wonderland Jr!

Auditions will be held to determine roles, but all students who register will be cast and perform in the show. Participants will attend rehearsals - learning singing, dancing, acting, and teamwork - with the experience culminating in four performances on July 31 and August 1.

Ages 5-16

Auditions:
Date in June and location to be announced soon. Video auditions also accepted.
Students will sing 45-90 seconds of a song in a similar style of the show and learn a short dance.

Pricing:
$600 per participant
• Includes custom show shirt, professional instruction, licensed materials, full production experience, and live performances of Disney’s Alice in Wonderland Jr.
• Payment plan available ($200 due upon registration, $200 due June 19, $200 due July 19)
• $20 discount per participant if paid in full by check or cash by the audition date

Anticipated additional costs include:
• Tickets for audience members ($12/child, $17/adult)
• Costumes and shoes (you will be required to provide specific shoes and/or costume items for your performer)

Is this a summer camp?
This is a theatrical production, not a traditional summer camp. While students will have fun and stay active during daytime rehearsal hours, participation also comes with responsibilities outside of rehearsal. Students are expected to listen to music, practice lines, and review choreography at home as needed throughout the production process. Being part of a show is a lot of fun, but it also requires commitment, preparation, and personal responsibility.

What do I, as the parent, need to do?
Parents will need to join the BAND app for program communication. Students may also join if families would like them to have direct access to rehearsal videos, costume information, and other production updates.

After roles are assigned, families will be responsible for ordering any required costume pieces for their child’s character.

All families will also be asked to volunteer in some way during show week. Volunteer opportunities may include set building and strike, ticket taking, backstage support, and helping with concessions or merchandise.

Is this program a good fit for my child's learning needs?
We welcome students of all skill levels and abilities and strive to create an inclusive theatre environment where every child has the opportunity to shine. Many students with diverse learning styles and support needs thrive in our program, and we work thoughtfully to help each student find a role where they can be successful.

Our rehearsals are structured as a collaborative group learning environment. Students learn through active participation as well as by observing peers, listening to direction, and following the rehearsal process during times when they are not actively performing.

Students who benefit from occasional quiet downtime may, in some cases, bring quiet self-directed activities during appropriate rehearsal periods while remaining part of the group setting.

Because our staff is focused on theatre instruction for the full group, we are not able to provide one-on-one behavioral support or individualized supervision. Students should be able to participate safely and respectfully in a group setting.

We encourage families to reach out before registering to discuss any support needs and whether our program is the right fit.

I accept all risks associated with that participation and understand that there is a full possibility of serious physical injury. I understand and accept that the Center, its staff, instructors, or their landlords are not responsible for injury to myself or my child(ren), whether based on allegations or not, in any way, by any reason of my participation in the Center’s classes, rehearsals, performances, and/or any other related events.
