Seeking actors for “UNO,” a dramatic short film centered on trauma and human connection inside a jail rehabilitation unit.
The story follows Serena, a young social work intern, who forms an unexpected bond with inmate Malik, a non-verbal youth on suicide watch through a game of Uno.

ROLES:
SERENA (Female, 20s)
Compassionate, strong-willed and emotionally determined. A young social work intern who refuses to give up on a difficult client. Lead role with substantial emotional range.
MALIK (Male, 18–22, Mixed ethnicity preferred)
Thin build preferred. Deeply traumatized young inmate with minimal dialogue but highly expressive physical acting required. Must be comfortable portraying emotional distress, mental illness and vulnerability. Lead role.
MS. MOORE (Female, 50s+)
Experienced rehabilitation supervisor. Practical and guarded.
ABUELA (Female, 60s–70s, Mixed ethnicity preferred) Religious grandmother figure appearing in memory sequences.
YOUNG BOY (Male, 8–12, Mixed ethnicity preferred)
Sensitive and energetic child role. Available for emotional scene involving family violence.
CORRECTION OFFICERS (Male or Female, 30s–50s)
