Course Overview
The SCN Foundations Course is a virtual training program designed to support trainees working in stem cell biology and regenerative medicine research. The course provides foundational training in areas that support rigorous, reproducible, and ethically grounded research practices.
The Foundations Pilot is aimed primarily at early-stage trainees (e.g., MSc students, PhD students, and other eligible trainees) and includes modules in:
- Scientific communication
- Best practices in documentation
- ELSI (Ethical, Legal, and Social Issues)
- Project management
- Experimental design
- Biostatistics
The course will run virtually from October–December and will require approximately 1–2 hours per module, alongside optional networking and discussion activities. The goal is to help trainees build foundational competencies while strengthening national connections within the stem cell and regenerative medicine community.
A $200 registration fee per participant will be paid by the supervisor/lab.
