The 2026 Pittsburgh New Works Festival auditions will be held Saturday, July 11 and Sunday, July 12, in the Genesius Theater at Duquesne University.

I give the Pittsburgh New Works Festival permission to use my name, likeness, image, voice, and/or appearance as such may be embodied in any pictures, photos, video recordings, audiotapes, digital images, and the like, taken or made during my involvement in the festival. I agree that the Pittsburgh New Works Festival may use them for any purpose consistent with their mission. These uses include, but are not limited to exhibitions, videotapes, reprints, reproductions, publications, advertisements, and any promotional or educational materials in any medium now known or later developed, including the Internet. I acknowledge that I will not receive any further compensation than stated in the festival guidelines, etc for the use of such pictures, etc., and hereby release the Pittsburgh New Works Festival from any and all claims which arise out of or are in any way connected with such use.

Availability

You will be auditioning in front of all of our participating companies. They will want to know up front which actors are, and are not, available for the dates of their plays and for the places and dates of rehearsals. The following sections help clarify that.

Please check the box next to any performance dates that you are NOT available to participate. Performances are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings at 7:30 pm, and matinees on Saturday and Sunday at 2 pm.

NEW PLAY READING SERIES

Each year, New Works receives hundreds of new plays that eventually get narrowed down to those that are produced as Main Stage productions, after rounds of critique, scoring and board review.

The production companies select these plays from a pool of ~40 finalists. Throughout the year, New Works holds free readings of the top scoring plays that were deemed worthy of production but were just not selected by a company this year. These plays deserve their chance to be performed by some fantastic local actors. That's where YOU come in.
