The Allegheny County Medical Society (ACMS) is pleased to announce the opening of nominations for the prestigious ACMS Distinguished Physician and Community Awards.
These awards recognize physicians, individuals, and organizations that exemplify exceptional clinical excellence, leadership, innovation, and dedication to serving others.
We invite you to nominate those who have made meaningful contributions to the medical profession and positively impacted the lives of patients, colleagues, and the broader community.
Nominee Eligibility
Except for the Benjamin Rush Community Organization and Individual Award (reserved for non-healthcare organizations and individuals), nominations are open to both physician members and non-members of the Allegheny County Medical Society.
Award Categories

Physician Awards
Nominees accepted are physicians who exhibit:
- Exceptional clinical excellence
- Leadership and service
- Contributions or innovations in healthcare
- Efforts to address community health challenges
Benjamin Rush Individual Award and Community Awards
Nominees accepted are non-healthcare individuals or organizations who:
- Dedicate time, skills, or resources to helping others
- Contribute to the advancement of healthcare
- Successfully address important community health issues
The deadline to submit nominations is July 24, 2026.
Multiple nominations are welcome; however, each nomination must be submitted separately.
After submitting your first nomination, you will receive a confirmation message with a link to submit an additional nomination.
