The NYC Resident Concealed Carry Firearm Licensing & Safety Course is a comprehensive training program designed to meet and exceed the requirements established by New York State for residents of NYC seeking a concealed carry license. This course provides both the legal foundation and practical skills necessary for responsible firearm ownership and lawful concealed carry in all of New York State including New York City.

This course fulfills the New York State/NYC mandated training requirement of 18 total hours, which includes:

• 16 hours of classroom instruction
• 2 hours of live-fire range training
• All range fees
• Use of firearm for qualification
• Ammunition
• FBI qualification targets
• Low-Profile Shooting Ear Muffs (yours to keep)
• Ballistic Shooting Glasses (yours to keep)

Participants will receive in-depth instruction on NYS/NYC firearm laws, including licensing requirements, restrictions, safe transport, and use-of-force regulations. Special emphasis is placed on understanding when the use of deadly force is legally justified, as well as the serious responsibilities that come with carrying a concealed firearm in highly regulated jurisdictions such as New York City.

The course includes both classroom instruction and hands-on training. Students will learn firearm safety fundamentals, proper handling techniques, safe storage practices, and situational awareness strategies. Live-fire range training is incorporated to develop proficiency in marksmanship, safe firearm operation, and defensive shooting fundamentals under controlled conditions.

Additional topics include conflict de-escalation, decision-making under stress, and the ethical considerations of carrying a firearm for personal protection. Students will receive an overview of the application process, including required documentation and best practices for successfully submitting a concealed carry permit application in NYC.
Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion that satisfies NYC training requirements. This course is ideal for first-time applicants as well as individuals seeking to refresh their knowledge and ensure compliance with current laws.

The program’s goal is to produce informed, responsible, and confident permit holders who prioritize safety, legality, and accountability at all times.

NYC Resident CCW Concealed Carry Firearm License & Safety Course
