Overview
This funding is for health and human service nonprofit agencies providing direct assistance for emergency assistance or basic needs to individuals and families in Jennings County, Indiana and; are facing funding shortfall or financial strain that cannot be overcome without temporary, short-term funding; experiencing increased demand for services or are running short of supplies needed to meet demands for basic, emergency needs.
Organizations must:
- Be a health and human services focused nonprofit
- Provide direct assistance addressing emergency or basic needs predominantly to ALICE households or households at/below the Federal Poverty Level (ALICE Report)
- Serve individuals or households in Jennings County.
- Have a strong rationale for need that reflects changing community or public funding conditions
- Be able to expend funds within a defined and reasonable timeframe
- Be facing a financial shortfall that cannot be backfilled with its own resources
Funding must be used to bridge unplanned and unbudgeted financial strain and/or reduce the risk of stalling or inability to meet demand:
- increase in demand for services/goods
- increase in requests for assistance
- increase in the number of households or individuals being served
- increase in the number of work hours or days of operation for the organization and its employees to meet demands
- unexpected loss, postponement, or decline in regular/legacy public sector funding that puts the organization at risk of reducing service delivery
