General Expectations and Requirements
Vacation Bible School is not only a children’s ministry, it is Kingdom work in the mission field of this local community. Your presence of ministry in VBS is to bring the Gospel to entire families in this community through the children, and probably even the parents. As such, it is important that your life reflects the values of a Christ-follower—dedicating your time, treasure, talent and touch to glorify God.
Time: Be committed in spending regular quality time with God in worship, prayer, bible study and fellowship.
- VBS Training #1 in Chapel/Fishbowl on June 14th from 12:45pm-2:15pm, lunch provided
- VBS Training #2 in Chapel/Fishbowl on July 12th from 12:45pm-3:00pm, lunch provided
- Attend any additional training sessions as needed
- Arrive by 5:45pm on each day of VBS, July 13th -17th, and leave by 9:45pm
- Attend closing ceremony
Treasure: Set aside at least ten percent of your incoming money (allowance, income, etc.) for tithing at your local church. Freely give to those in need.
- No monetary or material compensation will be given to you for volunteering in the capacity of a VBS helper.
Talent: Use your God-given gifts, skills and passions to serve God within the Body of Christ.
- Choose roles that embrace the gifts, skills and passions that God has given to you. Do not only choose roles that your friends choose.
- If needed, you may be asked to serve in a role that you did not choose. Embrace it and seek to find new experiences that God may be giving to you.
Touch: Treat every person (children, other helpers, parents, etc.) with love and respect. Remember that everyone is created, as you were, in the image of God.
- Pray and care for the kids, families and other helpers.
- Serve whole-heartedly in this team ministry.
- Communicate well with your own family about this ministry opportunity so that they may pray for and support you.
