Check the Horse list to see if their DNA is on file with IDHSC, or contact the registration office to confirm sire and/or dam are already on file. If confirmed "no" you will need to provide documentation.
Irish Draught, Irish Draught Sport Horse, or Irish Sport Horse parents must have proof of of registration (green passport) through IDHSC, Horse Sport Ireland, Irish Draught Horse Society Great Britain, or Irish Draught Horse Society of North America.
Other registered breeds: it is your responsibility to provide the DNA analysis report to the registration office if not already on file. You need to own the horse you are requesting a DNA report for. If you are not the owner you need to request the owner make that request on your behalf to the breed registry. Request the DNA report be sent to the IDHSC registrar by email.
Jockey Club registered Thoroughbreds
Ownership transfer for Thoroughbreds born after 2017 is completed through the Jockey Club interactive account. It is free to sign up: JC sign-up
Thoroughbreds born pre-2017 transfer of ownership can be completed by completing a transfer of ownership form and sending to the Jockey Club. Contact the Jockey Club directly for more information.
If you are the listed owner the IDHSC registration office can request the DNA report on your behalf.
If DNA can't be provided on non-Irish Draught parentage the parent will be listed as UNKNOWN.
