  • Enrolment Procedure

    All Enrolment forms are due by 6pm Monday 22nd June 2026.

    All forms submitted are subject to availability.

    Priority Vacancies Allocation:

    First Priority: Vacancies will be initially offered to children who are already attending Metella Road Public School's Before and After School Care program.

    Second Priority: Following the first priority, any remaining vacancies will be offered to children currently enrolled at Metella Road Public School.

    Third Priority: Any additional vacancies will be made available to children living within the local area, at the discretion of the centre's management.
    All placements will be allocated in accordance with the guidelines set by the Department of Family and Community Services.

    Important Reminders

    • Emergency Contacts: Please ensure all emergency contact details are current and up to date.
    • Parenting Orders / AVOs: Please inform the service of any parenting orders, AVOs, or court orders relevant to your child.
    • Medical / Dietary Requirements: Notify the service of any medical conditions, allergies, or dietary requirements. Ensure all medication is clearly labeled, with administration instructions provided.
    • Operational Hours: The centre opens at 7:00am and closes at 6:00pm.
      Late Pickup Fees: Children collected after 6:00pm will incur a late fee $5 for every minute after 6pm.
    • Food Requirements: Families must provide enough food for the full day. Do not send items that require cooking or heating. Please pack Recess and lunch as you would for school.
    • Breakfast: Available from 7:00am – 8:30am and consists of cereal, toast, and juice/milk. Any special dietary needs must be communicated in advance.
    • Afternoon Tea: Fruit and Crackers platter will be served daily. 
    • Child Safety: Children must wear appropriate footwear and clothing suitable for indoor and outdoor play.

  • Please note the daily fees below include charges for any excursions, incursions or activities on the day. This removes out of pocket expenses and the full amount becomes eligible for CCS rebate.

    Excursion Schedule:
    Children must arrive at the service by 9:00am
    Departure from service: 9:30am
    Arrival at Hoyts Blacktown: 10:00am
    Movie commencement: 10:30am
    Movie conclusion (approximate): 12:30pm
    Return to service:1.00pm

     

    Staff: Up to 55 children, with a staff to child ratio of 1:8. 7 Staff will be attending the excursion. 

    First Aid: A first aid officer will be allocated to the excursion.

    What to bring: Centre’s green excursion T-Shirt must be worn, hat and enclosed supportive shoes (no sandals, thongs, crocs, ballet flats).

    Children will be required to take their recess and lunch.

  • Health and Safety

    • The Centre follows the current health recommendations and guidelines provided by NSW Health and the NSW Department of Education at all times.
    • Emergency drills are practiced randomly throughout the holidays. The evacuation plan is in place and located at each exit point.
    • First aid kits are easily accessible and well stocked at all times.
    • At all times we will have educators on the grounds and on excursions who hold a current First Aid Certificate, as well as asthma and anaphylaxis training.
    • Parents will be contacted if their child becomes ill, injured or appears distressed.
    • Parents will be informed if there are any infectious diseases in circulation.

    Our Service is committed to ensuring we are providing a healthy and safe environment for all children and educators, and we have specific risk minimisation strategies in place to minimise the spread of infectious diseases. 

    What if my child is unwell?

    While we realise that families have work and family commitments of their own, exclusion periods are essential to ensure the health and safety of the ill child, other children at the service and staff.

    The length of the exclusion period will vary depending on the infection or illness concerned. We are guided by decisions regarding exclusion periods and notification of infectious diseases by the Australian Government- Department of Health.     • We reserve the right to refuse a child into care if they:
    • have had a temperature/fever or vomiting in the last 24 hours
    • have had diarrhoea in the last 24 hours- if confirmed to be norovirus they will be excluded until there has not been any diarrhoea or vomiting for at least 48hrs.
    • have been given medication for a temperature prior to arriving at the Service
    • have started a course of anti-biotics in the last 24 hours
    • have a contagious or infectious disease (specific exclusion periods may apply)

     

     

  • General

    • While at the service, my child may be photographed for programming documentation, displays within the service, program books etc. In line with our Child Safe practices, the service does not post direct identifying photos of children on social media platforms. If I do not wish for my child to be photographed or included in service documentation, I understand that I must notify the service in writing.

    •  Children must be dressed appropriately for weather conditions.

    •  Children must wear enclosed shoes and sun safe clothing that covers the shoulders. Midriff, crop or singlet tops do not provide adequate sun protection and may not be worn. During the winter months, please ensure your child has a warm jumper or jacket packed each day.

    •  It is my responsibility to provide all medications for my child and complete the appropriate medication documentation. Where required, a current Medical Management Plan and medication form must be completed prior to the child attending the service. As per Regulation 95, medication must be supplied in its original container with the pharmacy label intact. Medication cannot be administered without a completed medication form or if the medication is not supplied in its original container.

    •  All children are expected to follow the service agreements and staff instructions at all times.

    •  I agree to abide by all policies and procedures of Metella Road Out Of School Hours Child Care Inc. Policies and procedures are available upon request at the service or via the service website.

  • Sun Safety

    Slip! Slop! Slap! Seek! Slide!

    • Sunscreen is available at the service. Staff will assist and remind children to reapply sunscreen throughout the day as needed. If your child has specific sunscreen needs or allergies, please provide a suitable alternative and inform the staff.
    • It is a part of our Sun Safety Policy that children wear a hat when outdoors when the UV is above 3.  Please ensure your child brings a hat each day.
    • I understand that it is a Centre requirement for my child to bring a HAT everyday he/she attends vacation care. I am aware that my child will be unable to attend vacation care if this requirement is not met.
  • Hair Colour, Nail Polish and Face Paint over the holidays. We may do face painting, nail polish and hair colouring can be programmed. Please tick the following circles if your child is able to participate in the following activities:
  • Arrival, Departure, and Absences

    • I must come into the service each morning and sign my child into care. The service cannot be held liable for any child not signed into care.
    • I must come into the service each afternoon before 6:00pm and sign my child out of care. A late fee will apply after 6:00pm.
    • If my child is absent on a booked day, I must contact the service and inform educators of my child’s absence.
    • I will be charged for any absent days.
  • Electronic Devices

    Children enrolled at our Service are not permitted to bring electronic devices to the Service (this includes smart watches), unless an exception has been discussed with the approved provider or nominated supervisor where the device may be required to support a diagnosed medical condition or disability. If a child brings an electronic device to the Service, it will be switched off and stored in a locked cupboard.

     

  • Fees

    • Daily fees: The daily fees include charges for any incursion or activities on the day. This removes out of pocket expenses and the full amount becomes eligible for CCS rebate
    • The base daily fee begins at $85 and increases depending on the cost of any special activities, incursion or excursion. Please note: enrolment is subject to availability.

    Payment Terms

    As a condition of enrolment, all families are required to have direct debit set up via Xplor. No alternative payment methods will be accepted.

    Vacation Care enrolments will not be processed for families with an outstanding account balance. All existing fees must be paid in full and the account brought to a $0 balance prior to enrolment confirmation.

  • These are the service’s “Agreements” that have been developed with the children attending the Centre. These agreements help us work together to create a safe, inclusive, respectful and enjoyable environment where every child’s wellbeing, safety and dignity are paramount.

    Please read these with your child/ren.

    • We treat people the way we would like to be treated and value everyone’s feelings, rights and differences.
    • We speak respectfully to others and keep our hands and feet to ourselves.
    • We listen to educators and follow instructions to help keep everyone safe.
    • We walk inside the Centre.
    • We walk under the COLA area and on hard surfaces outdoors to help prevent injuries.
    • We are careful with and respectful of each other’s belongings and the Centre environment.
    • We clean up after ourselves and help care for shared spaces.
    • We include others in play and help make the Centre a welcoming place for everyone.
    • We know our boundaries and try to stay within them at all times so educators know we are safe.
    • We work together to make our Centre a happy, fun, respectful and safe place for all children, families and educators.

     

    Important Notice: The safety, wellbeing and best interests of children are the Centre’s highest priority. In line with the service’s Behaviour Guidance Policy, educators will work closely with children to support, guide, regulate and redirect behaviour in a positive and respectful manner.

    The service is committed to child safe practices that uphold each child’s dignity, rights and wellbeing. Behaviour support strategies will always aim to protect the safety and wellbeing of all children, educators and families while supporting children to build positive relationships, emotional regulation and safe behaviours.

    Where ongoing or serious unsafe behaviour occurs, the service may work collaboratively with families and relevant professionals to develop additional support strategies and risk management plans. In circumstances where the safety and wellbeing of children, staff or others cannot be maintained, the service may implement further measures, including reviewing bookings, reducing attendance days or hours, temporary suspension, or exclusion from care.

    Please note that the Centre accepts no responsibility for personal property brought to the Centre that is lost, damaged, stolen or shared with other children.
