Sponsors
Being a Sponsor is a commitment not only to the Candidate, but to the Tres Días and Fourth Day communities. Prayerfully consider these commitments before volunteering to be a Sponsor:
- You must know the Candidate personally and be willing to step into their shoes as their Sponsor for that weekend.
- Ensure that the Candidate is a professing believer. Tres Días is not an evangelistic ministry for the lost. Rather, it’s designed to help Christian leaders develop future Christian leaders.
- Confirm that the Candidate is at least 21 years of age by the start of the weekend, unless a specific exemption is made by the Secretariat.
- Be honest. Explain the basic format of the weekend and answer any questions your Candidate may have. Your Candidate needs to know that a weekend is a very busy and intensive learning experience.
- It is the Sponsor's responsibility to provide the Candidate transportation to and from the campground, as well as to ensure the Candidate's family and home matters are taken care of while they are away.
- Sponsors are also responsible for coordinating with the Candidate's friends and/or family members to obtain letters written to the Candidate. These are letters of encouragement, expressing gratitude to the Candidate, highlighting how they see God’s grace in their life, and inspiring them to grow in the faith.
- Print, fill out, and return one “Candidate Application” form for each Candidate that you intend to sponsor. This form can be found in the Sponsorship & Fees section of this website or at any team meeting. We recommend that you provide each Candidate with a copy of the “Candidate Suggested Packing List,” which can also be found in the Sponsorship & Fees section.
