Election for ONE tribal council position shall be held in a meeting in Dot Lake, at 11 AM on July 7th, 2026. The Council Member shall be each elected for one 3-year term.
Voter Qualification: Enrolled Dot Lake Tribal Members who are 18 years of age or older and who are present on the day of the election shall be qualified to vote.
Notice of election shall be posted in two places in the Village at least 30 days prior to the election. Additionally, notice of the election shall be mailed or hand delivered to each of the adult Dot Lake Tribal Members.
Any qualified person interested in running for the seat on the Dot Lake Village Council will need to completely fill out the Candidate Election Application form and submit it to the Council by the deadline of June 8th, 2026 at 11:59 AM. To complete this form please use the following link:

Qualifications to serve on the Dot Lake Village Council: Enrolled Dot Lake Tribal members who are 18 years of age or older and who reside in the State of Alaska. Candidates must have filed the Candidate Election Application form, by the deadline, and must be willing to be drug tested for a comprehensive panel of drugs, and have a criminal background check done prior to the election.
The Dot Lake Village Council shall appoint two adult persons to serve as the Election Officers for the election on July 7th, 2026.
The Dot Lake Village Council shall prepare a list of the eligible voters for the Election Officers to see.
A quorum for the meeting on July 7th, 2026 shall be 20 enrolled Dot Lake Tribal Members, 18 years of age or older.
The names of all approved candidates shall be written for voters to see on the ballot, and be eligible to vote for any of them.
Ballots shall be cast in a manner to protect the confidentiality of all tribal member voters. Any tie votes shall be voted for immediately.
In the event that a tie cannot be broken, the straws shall be drawn. Immediately after the election, the 5 members of the Council shall meet to decide who the officers of the Council shall be.
