About the Art at the Gardens Immersive Retreat: Aug 1 & 2, 2026
Back for the second year! Join us for two days of short classes to explore a range of art techniques and learn from a variety of instructors all onsite at the Freyer – Newman Center. Classes are open to beginners and experienced artists. The expanded schedule includes morning and afternoon classes, a lunch break with built-in time for strolling, sketching or relaxing. On Saturday evening chat with new friends during the Mocktail Party. A classroom is reserved throughout the weekend for open studio time and socializing.
About the Scholarship
- Up to 4 scholarships will be awarded, consisting of one free class held during the Immersive Retreat, Aug 1 or 2. View the complete schedule of classes HERE.
- You do not need to be currently enrolled in our classes to be eligible.
- Applicants must be 17 years or older.
- All classes during the Immersive Retreat are held in person and are taught in English.
- Note: We aim to support and strengthen diverse perspectives and assist people experiencing financial hardships. People in the LGBTQ community, from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds, and/or those who express financial need will be given first preference.

Complete the application form below and submit a short statement describing why you wish to attend a class during our Immersive Retreat weekend:

- Tell us a little about yourself as an artist.
- If applicable, please describe any financial hardships preventing you from enrolling in our classes.
Applications are due by midnight (Mountain Time) Monday, July 6, 2026.
Please Note: All received applications will be reviewed at one time. Expect notification about award status on or before July 10, 2026.
