  • RPAC-NM TRUSTEE APPLICATION

    The REALTORS® Political Action Committee of New Mexico (RPAC-NM), the official PAC of the New Mexico Association of REALTORS® (NMAR), is now accepting applications to fill six trustee positions across four NMAR Districts. Each role carries a three-year term beginning January 1, 2027.
  • Trustee Openings by District:

    • Central District: 2 Positions
    • Commercial District: 2 Positions
    • Northeast District: 1 Position
    • Northwest District: 1 Position

    Application Process:

    • Complete the following application
      • Review and acknowledge
        • RPAC-NM Trustee Qualifications, and
        • Duties of the RPAC-NM Trustees
      • Submit application on or before July 1, 2026.
    • The NMAR GAD is responsible for forwarding applications to their respective NMAR District Vice President, who will review submissions and recommend qualified candidates to the full RPAC-NM Board of Trustees, which will make the final selections at the Annual Meeting of RPAC-NM in August.

    • RPAC-NM Trustee Qualifications (click to expand) 
    • Minimum Qualifications

      1. Must be an RPAC-NM investor at the time of application.
      2. Must demonstrate political knowledge and acumen at either the local or the state level.
      3. Must commit to the applicable term of service and the attendance policy, indicate a willingness to remain a member of the Committee throughout the term of service, and agree to abide by the RPAC-NM Bylaws and Policies as they may be amended from time to time.

      Other qualifications to be considered: 

      1. Experience on a Member Board RPAC committee;
      2. Experience on a Member Board or state legislative committee;
      3. Multi-year contributor to RPAC-NM;
      4. Volunteer experience on a political campaign; and
      5. Other substantial political knowledge and involvement.
    • Attendance Policy (click to expand) 
    • The members of the Board shall accept the responsibility for attendance at all regularly scheduled or specially called meetings as a condition of service.

      Any Trustee who fails to attend two (2) consecutive meetings, whether regularly scheduled or specially called, in any calendar year during their term and without a reason for such absence submitted in writing and deemed acceptable by the officers of the Board, shall automatically be considered to have resigned.

    • Duties of the RPAC-NM Trustees (click to expand)  
      • The Trustees shall review and approve the annual dollar fundraising goals and shall create, coordinate and oversee the fundraising program.

      • The Trustees shall evaluate on an annual basis the effectiveness of the funds being raised and contributed.

      • The Trustees shall develop, update, and present political education programs at state and Member Board meetings.

      • The Trustees shall implement all rules, regulations, and activities of RPAC-NM Policies, candidate interviews, and contribution policies, to include assisting Member Boards with candidate interviews and support activities.

      • The Trustees are encouraged to seek input from Member Boards on state candidates.

      • The Trustees shall, on an annual basis, review and if necessary, revise their current and long-term goals, objectives, and programs for consistency with the NMAR strategic plan.

      • Each Trustee shall meet with each Member Board within his/her district to discuss the activities of RPAC-NM at least two times during the calendar year.

      • Each Trustee must assist with raising the necessary dollars to fund the operation of RPAC-NM and to meet the goals established by RPAC-NM.

      • Each Trustee will meet with Member Boards within his/her district to assist in planning, development and implementation of the local RPAC fundraising efforts.

      • Each Trustee must assume a leadership role by setting a high personal standard of investments to RPAC-NM.

      • Each Trustee must attend all regularly called and special meetings of the Board.

      • Each Trustee must remain politically active and informed on current political events and issues.

      • Each Trustee must be willing to remain knowledgeable about NMAR political priorities and the NMAR Quality of Life Statement.

      • Each Trustee must commit to converse with politicians with the interest of REALTORS® in mind, rather than their own personal political interests.

      • Each Trustee is charged with supporting the actions of RPAC-NM, and while sitting as a state Trustee, to review proposals, contributions, legislators, and issues with the RPAC-NM Policies and NMAR Legislative Policies as of paramount importance. Each Trustee must set aside parochial interests to put the interests of REALTORS® across the state first.

    • If selected as a Trustee, I agree to the following: to serve for my appointed term of service; to comply with the Trustees' attendance policy; to remain a member of RPAC-NM throughout my term of service; and to abide by the RPAC-NM Bylaws and Policies as they may be amended from time to time. I have read the duties expected of me as a Trustee and agree to perform such to the best of my abilities.
