• MJCOA - Homeowner Unit Lock Programming Questionnaire

Please complete the homeowner lock and access setup questionnaire.
  • The new door handles/locking system that will be installed on all unit and lock-off doors in JCL this spring/summer has 3 modes of access: Phone, RFID card, PIN Code. Our goal, with the following questionnaire, is to gather the necessary information from each owner so the company installing the locks can set them up according to each owner's preferences.

Before completing the questionnaire it might be helpful for you to think about your preferences. You may want to consider the following:

    • How do you want your houseguests to access the unit?
    • Do you have seasonal (longer term renters)?
    • Do you have short term renters?
    • Do you have children who need independent access but are at risk for losing an RFID Card?
    • Do you have a Lock-off Unit? If so, how will that be utilized? Does access need to be kept separate from the Main Unit Door?
    • Phone Access - best for Owners, or possibly Seasonal Renters. This has a nominal app fee
    • RFID Card Access - Well suited for renters (just like a hotel room door). Good for owners as well.
    • PIN Codes - Great for kids or people who are at risk for getting locked out and/or losing/forgetting things. This is a 6-digit code generated by the software (not customizable).

NOTE: In the event there are two or more families who own the unit please fill the questionnaire out for just your immediate family to avoid duplication.

  • Unit Information

  • Owner Access

Please list all individuals who should have owner-level access to your unit. Access permissions will be programmed exactly as submitted and will have no end date.
  • PRIVACY OVERRIDE ACCESS

    What is Privacy Mode?

When someone is inside the unit and the deadbolt is locked, the door enters privacy mode. Any attempt to enter will result in three red lights/beeps, and access will be denied.

    What does Privacy Override do?

    • If “Yes” is selected, that person can still enter even when privacy mode is active.
    • If “No” is selected, they will not be able to enter when the unit is occupied and the deadbolt is engaged.

    Guidance:

    • Recommended: enable for owners and trusted family members
    • Use caution for renters, guests, or service providers
  • Can enter when privacy mode is active ((deadbolt engaged from the inside)?
