• TENding to the Garden: AHJN's 10th Birthday Gallery Submission Form

  • At our upcoming birthday celebration, we will be displaying artwork from all around the AHJN community and you are invited to submit yours to join the gallery! 

     

    Submissions will be accepted through 6pm on July 22nd. 

    Artworks must be delivered to the AHJN office by 6pm on August 17th. 

     

    Existing work or new work are welcome. All mediums are welcome. 

     

    We welcome work that speaks to themes of: 

    • Self Awareness 
      • becoming more aware of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors and how you see, understand, and define yourself; requires engagement towards self-determination or feeling of agency in your life.
    • Critical Knowledge
      • understand societal systems—including systemic oppression—how they impact peopledifferently based on social conditions; requires an examination of white supremacy, heteropatriarchy, captialism, and the eugenics movement; acknowledges the potential for (re)empowerment stemming from the ability to understand one’s personal experience to that of external dominant influences.
    • Community Belonging 
      • gaining a sense / feeling part of a community you can trust, rely, and support; typically includes peers, mentors and / or Elders.
    • Radical Joy 
      • experiencing joy / happiness while engaging in opportunities / events that would otherwise not be readily available to Youth and Communities of Color.
    • Youth Justice 
    • Healing
