Shire Electric is looking for a dependable and organized Materials Specialist to support our electrical contracting operations in Pittsfield. This role has the potential for increased hours and expanded responsibilities over time.
Position: Materials Specialist
Hours: Part-time, 25 hours/week
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30AM-1:30PM
Pay: $18-$21/hour depending on experience
Job Description:
-Coordinate and place material orders with local suppliers based on lists provided by electricians and project managers
-Prepare and stage materials for upcoming jobs
-Receive, organize, and put away incoming deliveries and unused job materials
-Perform physical inventory counts and help maintain accurate stock levels
-Organize and maintain the warehouse and company vans
-Complete material pickups and deliveries as needed
-Compare supplier pricing and availability to help manage costs
-Assist with warehouse cleanup, wire recycling, and other general shop tasks
-Support daily operations and assist with other warehouse, materials, and shop-related tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
-Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
-Ability to lift and move materials regularly
-Strong organizational and time management skills
-Ability to work independently and stay on task
-Reliable and self-motivated
-Basic computer and communication skills
-Warehouse, construction, or electrical industry experience preferred but not required
