REQUIREMENTS:
Brown belts: Annual SKDI membership card (or SKDI passport) valid for the exam date. Can not expire before the examination date.
Black belts: Valid SKDI passport AND valid JKA HQ annual membership card (white card from JKA Headquarters). Passport and membership card can not expire before the examination date.
Black Belts from other countries (outside SKDI) should confirm active local and JKA HQ membership with their chief instructor and organizing body. Otherwise, your results may not be processed by JKA HQ.
Permission: Applicants must have their dojo's chief instructor consent to test.
Time Requirements: For the 1st Dan exam you have passed 1st Kyu at least 6 months prior. For higher ranks please refer to this JKA HQ guidance for the minimum years before testing for each rank.

INSTRUCTORS:
- If students do not have expiration dates on their passports or membership cards, their instructor must submit a list of current student members, with their membership numbers to SKDI headquarters the week before the exam.
- Instructors are responsible for ensuring all students taking the exam have the required eligibility, active membership, and submitted an accurate exam application before the day of the exam.
