The delegate will represent the State of Alabama at the National ENA General Assembly that is the principle body responsible for developing policies and positions as well as providing direction for matters relating to emergency nursing, communicating member needs to the ENA Board of Directors, and providing input to the ENA board of directors on issues relating to the practice of emergency nursing and adopting procedures governing the operation of the General Assembly.

DATE/LOCATION: September 27-28, 2026 in Phoenix, Arizona. Delegates are expected to attend all meetings and activities of the General Assembly and report back to the Alabama membership the outcomes of the General Assembly. Please do not apply if you can not attend the entirety of General Assembly.
DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS: June 15, 2026 at 1700. No late applications accepted.
NOTIFICATION OF DELEGATES: Chosen delegates will be notified by the nominations/elections chair in by June 22, 2026.
INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS: Submissions must include all required supporting documentation as listed in each section. Submissions without required verification letters, proof of certification, or proof of instructor/director status will not receive points for those items.
ELIGIBILITY: Applicant must be a CURRENT ENA MEMBER in good standing.
Applicant MUST have attended in person or participated by conference call/virtually for 50% (2 of 4) State Council meetings since July 1, 2025 to qualify as a delegate or alternate. The meetings must have been attended in entirety and the member must have been present for attendance verification at both the beginning and end of the meeting.
Please note: If greater than one applicant has the same number of points, applicants not serving as a delegate the previous year shall be given priority.
PREDESIGNATED DELEGATE POSITIONS:
- In order to facilitate her/his upcoming role as President; if not chosen as a delegate, the President-Elect will serve as alternate.
- One delegate position will be allotted to the current state president.
- In order to encourage an emerging professional to participate in ENA at a national level representing our state, an alternate delegate position may be assigned to a member meeting this description.
- If a resolution is submitted by ALENA, one delegate position will be allocated to the resolution primary author.
COST REIMBURSEMENT: If chosen as a delegate the member will be reimbursed the following costs for attendance at 2026 Delegate Sessions in Phoenix, Arizona:
- Reimbursement of cost of Round Trip Airfare at standard rate. Any upgrades will be responsibillty of the attendee.
- Reimbursement of hotel costs for designated General Assembly Days at a reimbursement rate of 2 persons per room.
- Reimbursement of $75.00 per day for costs of food, parking/transportation, etc.
- Receipts must be submitted to ENA Treasurer to receive reimbursement.
