      78th Annual New Jersey Open Championship (Sept 5-7) – over $10,000 in guaranteed prizes – 80 Grand Prix Points. 6-SS, 40/100, SD/30 d5. Three sections: Open/Championship, Under 2000, Under 1400. 3-Day and 2-Day schedules.

      Location: Delta Hotel Woodbridge (515 US-1 South, Iselin, NJ). Free parking. Chess rate $129 per night. Book online or by phone at 856-665-6666, mention NJ Chess. GMs & IMs free entry. GMs up to 2 room-nights free if committed by 8/5 

      Advance registration: $75 online at njscf.org by July 31; $85 by August 28; $95 by 9 pm September 4. On-site registration: $100 (cash only, see times below). Re-entry: $40 (cash only). $5 fee for cancellations. No refunds after 12:01 am on September 5.

      Open prizes: $1000, $800, $700, $600, $500, Class prizes: 2200 – 2399: $200, $150; 2000 – 2199: $200, $150; Under 2000 prizes: $700, $600, $500, $400, $300, Class prizes: 1600 - 1799: $200, $150, 1400 - 1599: $200, $150; Under 1400 prizes: $600, $500, $400, $300, $200, Class prizes: 1200 - 1399: $150, $100, 1000 - 1199: $150, $100, Under 1000: $150, $100 All sections: trophies to top 3, top senior over 55, top under 18 (and at least 13), and top under age 13. Unrated may win first place in the Open section only. 

      3-Day Schedule (9/5-7): Onsite registration 10-11 am, Rounds: Saturday 12 noon & 6:30 pm, Sunday 11 am & 6:15 pm, Monday 9 am & 3:30 pm. 

      2-Day Schedule (9/6-7): Onsite registration Sunday 9-10 am, Rounds: 1, 2, 3 (G/60 d5) Sunday 10:30 am, 12:45 pm, 3:00, 6:15, Monday 9 am & 3:30 pm. 3-day and 2-day schedules merge in round 4. 

      Byes: Three half-point byes allowed in rounds 1-5 if requested at least 30 minutes before round start. 

      Boards provided. PLAYERS MUST BRING CLOCKS AND SETS.
