Herbs for Staying with the Struggle
  • Part 1: Herbal Care for Burn-Out June 23rd 6:30pm

In these times of compounding crisis burnout is a frequent outcome to fighting against harm and trying to survive. Come learn about accessible herbal supports for the ways burnout can show up in our bodies, from  fatigue, jumpiness, and irritability to lack of concentration, hopelessness, digestive disruptions, difficulty sleeping, and headaches. We’ll talk about individual herbs but also what wisdom we can glean from collective projects for care.
  • Part 2: Herbal Support for Tending Fear & Grief July 21st 6:30pm

When we are able to tend to fear and grief, we can reconnect with our humanity and deepen our capacity for connection with each other and with the webs of resistance we are part of. • Movement Care Collective

Since November 2024, Movement Care Collective (MCC) has been supporting care and healing connections for people who organize in liberatory movements (e.g. Palestinian liberation, resisting Bill 5, other anti-colonial struggles). We make these connections with a network of trusted practitioners who offer psychotherapy, debriefing, massage therapy, acupuncture, osteopathy, herbal medicine, peer support, spiritual care and more! Care offerings happen through a mix of single-session, short-term or long-term support, and via pro bono, low cost, or full fee services.
  • Facilitator

Kaleigh (she/they) is a community and clinical herbalist of Scottish ancestry who has been in an organizer active in struggles against colonial and gender-based violence, and in struggles for environmental justice and Indigenous sovereignty for over 15 years. She works to support the people around her and her community to feel strong, supported and nourished to keep doing the work of liberation and social change and to be more equipped to survive and confront daily violence. They love engaging with tensions and possibilities about community care, sickness & “wellness,” plants, land & medicine, and health liberation.
