Summer Bags Tournament 2026

The 2026 Bags Tournament at Capella Tower is here! 

Tournament rundown:

Teams will be randomly placed into separate pools. Pool size will be dictated by the amount of teams who sign up, with up to 6 teams per pool. The first 7 weeks will be, "Round Robin," pool play. This means you will see teams from your pool, and possibly teams from outside of your pool.

Games will begin on Wednesday, July 8 and fall between 10 am - 12 p.m. & located on the Sky Deck. In the event of rain or excessive heat, games will be moved to group fitness studio in the Health Club. The winner of each pool will be the team with the most wins and will advance to Championship Week. Championship games (semi-finals, finals, & consolation) will be held on August 26, starting at 10 am.

All pool play games have a 20-minute time limit. Unlimited subs are allowed throughout the tournament so long as the sub doesn't belong to another team in the tournament. If teams are more than 5 minutes late, it will be an automatic loss. Teams must score exactly 21 points without going over to win. If a team hits over 21 points, there is bust rule in effect that will bring your score down to 15.

* 1st Prize: (2) $100 Gift Cards of your choice*

* 2nd Prize: (2) $75 Gift Cards of your choice*

* 3rd Prize: (2) $50 Gift Cards of your choice*

Bonus Prize: Last year we struggled with getting teams to show up once they were out of championship contention. The tournament is no fun if teams don't show up after week four. So to up the ante and incentivize everyone to continue showing up for the entire tournament, all teams who show up to every week of pool play, who don't make it to championship day, will be entered into a drawing for two $50 Amazon gift cards.

*1st - 3rd Place winners can choose gift card from one of the following: Amazon, Dick's Sporting Goods, REI, Watershed Spa, Target

**NOTE: All team members must be employed with one of Capella Tower's tenant companies AND be available to play any time between the hours of 10 a.m. and 12 (Noon) p.m. on Wednesdays. Please do NOT sign-up if your team (including subs) cannot consistently be available during this time window for the 8 weeks of the tournament.

Though game times will NOT be promised to any team, we do want to gauge what the possible BEST time/s would work best for your team in an effort to accommodate the best that we can. 

Note: Though we will try our best to place you at one of your preferred times, due to the possibility of some/many teams choosing the same time slot and only two sets of boards available, the times you choose below are simply your perferred POSSIBILITIES and cannot be promised. Reminder that, in order to participate in this tournament, we'd ask that you chat with your teammates to ensure that you're available any time between 10 a.m. - Noon on Wednesdays before signing up. If you have no time preference, please select the, "Any time works," option to help simplify scheduling.
