    PSC Scholarship Application

    Important: Scholarship recipients will be registered for Safety Connection by Kentucky 811. Please wait until scholarship decisions have been finalized before registering. Registration fees paid prior to scholarship approval cannot be reimbursed.

    In its commitment to providing access to training and public outreach, the Kentucky Public Service Commission (PSC) is proud to sponsor registration scholarships for the 2026 Safety Connection, which takes place October 20-22, 2026, in Lexington. The PSC will offer complimentary registration awards to a select number of scholarship recipients. At the Connection, scholarship recipients will expect a full lineup of educational sessions and valuable networking opportunities.

    The deadline to submit an application is August 31, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.

    Criteria

    Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for the PSC scholarship:

    • Must work in the state of Kentucky
    • Must work in or adjacent to the damage prevention, excavation or utility industries – this includes contractors, locators, people employed or contracted by utility companies, regulation, local governance and any related organizations
    • Must agree to attend the Safety Connection in its entirety if selected

    Priority will be granted to first-time Connection attendees and first-time applicants. Any remaining scholarships will be awarded to returning attendees/applicants once all qualified first-time attendees/applicants have received a scholarship.

    Application Procedure

    Applications must complete the KY Safety Connection PSC Scholarship application electronically by filling out the fields below. Scholarship recipients will be automatically registered to attend. Recipients must make their own lodging and travel accommodations. If you're unable to attend or want to decline your scholarship, please email psc.dmgprevention@ky.gov no later than October 1, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.

    Recipient Responsibilities

    If selected, recipients agree to attend the 2026 Safety Connection. Recipients will be responsible for all travel expenses, including lodging, associated with attending the Connection. The PSC scholarship covers the cost of admittance to the 2026 Safety Connection for the duration of the event from October 20-22, 2026. If a selected recipient fails to attend the Safety Connection without proper notice, they will be responsible for repaying the full registration fee. The criteria for proper notice is at the discretion of the KY PSC. To provide notice of inability to attend or to decline your scholarship, email psc.dmgprevention@ky.gov no later than October 1, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.
