Terms & Conditions
By submitting an intake form and paying the non-refundable search retainer, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms and policies of Skyline Nanny Co..
Placement Philosophy
Skyline Nanny Co. is a boutique placement agency that values professional, ethical, and mutually beneficial working relationships between families and caregivers. We advocate strongly for fair industry standards, legal employment practices, and respectful treatment of household employees.
We reserve the right to decline, pause, or terminate a placement search if a family’s expectations, compensation structure, communication, or employment practices do not align with agency standards.
Search Retainer & Placement Fees
A non-refundable $1,000 search retainer is required before an active placement search will begin. Payment of the retainer secures your family’s placement search and allows Skyline Nanny Co. to begin sourcing, screening, interviewing, and presenting candidates.
The total placement fee is 7% of the nanny’s agreed-upon first-year base gross salary and is due upon successful placement and acceptance of employment by the candidate.
Search retainers are non-refundable under all circumstances, including but not limited to:
changes in family needs or scheduling
pauses or cancellation of the search by the family
deciding not to hire
delays in communication or decision making
dissatisfaction with market availability, rates, or candidate volume
Compensation & Employment Standards
Families working with Skyline Nanny Co. agree to offer compensation and employment terms that align with current industry standards within Chicago and the North Shore suburbs.
Families acknowledge that Skyline Nanny Co. may advise or require adjustments to:
hourly compensation
guaranteed hours
PTO and sick leave offerings
overtime compliance
reimbursement policies
job expectations and responsibilities
Skyline Nanny Co. reserves the right to decline searches offering compensation or employment conditions deemed substantially below market standards or inconsistent with fair and lawful household employment practices.
Legal Pay Requirements
Families agree that all caregivers hired through Skyline Nanny Co. will be paid legally as household employees in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment and tax laws.
Families understand that caregivers referred through Skyline Nanny Co. are employees of the hiring family, not employees or independent contractors of Skyline Nanny Co.
Employment Agreement Requirement
Families agree to utilize the employment agreement and onboarding documentation provided or approved by Skyline Nanny Co. as part of the placement process. Material alterations to agency agreements may require agency review and approval.
Candidate Introductions & Confidentiality
All candidates introduced by Skyline Nanny Co. remain confidential referrals of the agency. Families agree not to share candidate information, resumes, references, or contact information with third parties without written permission.
If a family hires a candidate introduced by Skyline Nanny Co. within 12 months of introduction, the placement fee remains due regardless of whether the hire occurred directly or indirectly.
Rush Searches
Skyline Nanny Co.’s average placement timeline is approximately 2–4 weeks. Families requesting expedited searches or immediate placement needs may be subject to an additional rush placement fee.
Agency Discretion
Skyline Nanny Co. reserves the right to refuse service, discontinue a search, or terminate a working relationship at any time if the agency believes a placement would not be in the best interest of the candidate, the family, or the agency.
By proceeding with payment of the search retainer, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
