Any individual age 17 or older who plans to pursue a career in a building-related field, and who will attend an eligible community college, university, or vocational school, and plans to seek work on the Kenai Peninsula, is eligible to apply for
a Kenai Peninsula Builders Association (KPBA) scholarship.
Awards are available as funds become available throughout the year.
A building-related field includes but is not limited to heating, ventilation, electrical, welding, carpentry, plumbing, interior design, structural design, architecture, office management, accounting, or CDL etc.
All scholarships are in the form of a “Letter of Award” issued by the Kenai Peninsula Builders Association, and money will be released upon receipt of a “Verification of Enrollment” sent by the proper school authorities to KPBA.
Any scholarship funds paid to the school and not used must be returned to the Kenai Peninsula Builders Association. This award will not cover expenses for previous academic years.
Applicants must attach at least two letters of recommendation and a personal essay outlining goals, needs, accomplishments, and objectives.
Incomplete applications will not be considered for the scholarship.
Criteria for Scholarship Award:
- Applicant must:
o Be 17 or older
o Training in a building-related field
o Plan to return to work on the Kenai Peninsula
o Be a resident of the Kenai Peninsula
- Scholarship funds may be awarded in one or two payments.
- All scholarship funds must be used or allocated within one year of the award.
Interviews will be scheduled as applications are received.
