Thank you for your interest in getting your dog or cat “fixed” through our Planned Pethood Animal Balance clinic event for residents of Santa Cruz County! First-come, first-served appointments for subsidized spay/neuter surgeries are available for up to 200 pets June 26, 27, and 28, 2026.
This service is available to healthy dogs and cats between 2 months and 8 years of age that weigh between 2 lbs and 80 lbs. Pets with very short noses (pugs, bulldogs, Persian cats) cannot have surgery through this clinic. We recommend that pets with very short noses, dogs that weigh more than 80 lbs, pets over 8 years old, and any with medical issues have spay/neuter surgery done by a full-service veterinarian.
Cost:
Cat: $15
Dog: $129
Services included:
Spay/neuter, vaccination (FVRCP for cats, DHPP for dogs, Rabies for dogs and cats over 4 months of age), a microchip for permanent identification, and a Santa Cruz County annual license for dogs. There is no price reduction if vaccinations or microchips are not needed at the time of surgery.
Payment is due at the time of registration and is non-refundable.
