  • PREPARING FOR SHEARING


    It is the shearer's responsibility to show up and handle your sheep and fiber with care. It's your responsibility to provide a safe environment and to do so with respect for our time. Please read the following requirements to increase safety and reduce stress to your sheep. 

  • Sheep must be dry to shear. If they are locked in a dry barn AFTER being rained or snowed on they will not dry off for several days.*
  • Shearing requires a clean, safe area. This means a dry, well lit, mostly level area, where other animals are not able to roam.*

  • PRICING and LOGISTICS


    $100 Setup/Travel fee

    Sheep: +$15/head

    Goats: +$20/head

    Alpacas: +$30/head

    +$5/each for hoof trimming

     Minimum charge is $150. 

    **Extra charge ($1/mi) for farms over 100 miles from home location in Burlington, VT.

  • There are a few acquaintances who would like more exposure to shearing. Would you be ok if one of them came along and possibly got some practice shearing with my guidance?*
