    Request for Qualifications (RFQ)

    UP Art Studio, on behalf of the South Post Oak Redevelopment Authority (TIRZ 9), invites qualified artists to apply to design and brush-paint a cohesive civic art treatment across four concrete trailhead structures at Buffalo Speedway and Sims Bayou, using a mineral silicate paint system with a protective clear coat. Applications are due by 11:59 PM CST on Tuesday, June 30, 2026. A virtual Artist Information Session will be offered twice on Monday, June 15, 2026 (12 to 1 PM and 6 to 7 PM CST), registration required here: https://form.jotform.com/261527874415160.

Include your goals as an artist, education and training, relevant experience, community engagement, commissions, exhibitions, and public art, murals, or exterior architectural work. Emerging artists may substitute an Artist's Statement that briefly describes their artistic interests, direction, experience, prior projects, and education, including self-taught and non-traditional paths.

  • List up to ten relevant projects. At least five must be exterior public art commissions completed within the past five years. For each work, upload an image (or paste a website or video link in the table) and complete the matching row below. Renderings of your proposed idea are not required at this stage. Please do not include phone screenshots. Applications with incomplete portfolio information may be deemed ineligible.
