Diversity Monitoring
UK DRI is working to create an environment where everyone feels welcome, valued, and able to thrive. To support this, we are introducing diversity monitoring across our activities to better understand our community over time. This data will help us track progress, identify areas for improvement, and strengthen our commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion in line with MRC expectations.
Your Participation
You can choose whether to take part. If you consent, you can answer as many or as few questions as you like - each includes a “Prefer not to say” option. Participation is entirely voluntary and will not affect your event registration.
How your information is used
Your responses are kept confidential and only accessible to authorised staff responsible for diversity monitoring. Data is reported in aggregate wherever possible so individuals cannot be identified. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing dpo@ukdri.ac.uk; your data will then no longer be used and will be deleted where possible.
The legal basis for collecting this information
We process diversity monitoring data under Articles 6(1)(a) and 9(2)(a) of the UK GDPR, with your explicit consent. Some questions may cover special category data - such as ethnicity, disability or long-term health conditions, sexual orientation, or religion and belief. This information is used solely for diversity monitoring and reporting, nothing else.
