Kenosha Women’s Network (KWN) is a local women’s networking organization with a philanthropic twist. Each year, our members raise funds towards our mini grant program, which awards small grants, typically $500 to $1,500, to local nonprofits. The amount available for the awards depends on the amount of money raised at our various events throughout the year.
Eligible Organizations
One mini grant request may be submitted on behalf of an eligible nonprofit that provides programming where the primary focus is to help women and/or children from Kenosha County.
· Grants are not available for capital funding, employee wages, or religious or political causes.
· No funds received from KWN may go to inherently religious activities that in any part support religious worship, instruction, or proselytization. Mini grant funds may, however, be used toward non-religious social services provided by religious organizations.
· While the nonprofit would not be excluded, funding preference is given to those that have not been funded in the three previous funding cycles.
· Mini grant awards are not guaranteed to be the full amount requested, and applying for the grant does not guarantee an award.
Completed applications must be received by Friday, July 17, 2026.
A copy of the organization’s current annual certificate from the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions (https://apps.dfi.wi.gov/ice/berg/Registration/Search.aspx) is required to be submitted with the mini grant application. Applications that do not include a copy of the DFI annual certificate will not be considered for funding.
All nonprofits with programs serving women and/or children in Kenosha County are encouraged to apply. Nonprofits that apply for our grant and have met our criteria will be given careful consideration during our grant selection process. Those that receive mini grants are encouraged to join KWN.
Grant recipients will be REQUIRED to report on the use of funds. Copies of receipts will be requested to verify how funds have been utilized.
Grant recipients will be announced at our August meeting and will be invited to attend the Award Ceremony on Friday, September 11, 2026 to receive their grants.
