    • I will make the Rules of Hire, Risk Acknowledgement and Data Protection & Privacy information available to every additional adult rider before the hire begins.
    • I accept responsibility for the booking and for ensuring that everyone included in it follows the Rules of Hire and all safety instructions given by Grafham Water Cycling Ltd.
    • I understand that I am not signing away or limiting any legal rights belonging personally to another adult rider.

    • I am over 18 and capable of safely riding a bicycle


    • I understand that I am responsible for my own safety during the hire period


    • I will follow all safety instructions and guidance provided by staff

  • RULES OF HIRE

    • Bikes must only be used on designated and approved routes
    • Bikes must not be used on restricted or technical terrain unless authorised
    • Riders must behave responsibly and show consideration to other users
    • All bikes must be returned by the agreed time
    • Late returns may incur additional charges
    • No refunds will be given for early returns
    • The bicycle must not be used for racing, stunts, jumping, or any purpose other than normal recreational riding

  • PARENT / GUARDIAN CONSENT

    • I am over 18 and the parent or legal guardian
    • I am capable of safely supervising and/or riding a bicycle
    • I give consent for the child/children named in this form to ride
    • I accept full responsibility for my own conduct and for the conduct and safety of the child/children during the hire period

  • I acknowledge that cycling and the use of hired equipment involve inherent risks including, but not limited to, loss of control, collisions, uneven terrain, weather conditions, equipment failure, and the actions of other users.

    I confirm that I am voluntarily participating and accept these risks.

  • LIABILITY WAIVER

  • Nothing in this agreement excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

    Subject to this, Grafham Water Cycling Ltd shall not be liable for loss or damage to personal property or for any indirect or consequential losses arising from participation in cycling activities.

  • DATA PROTECTION & PRIVACY

  • We collect and process your personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR). Your information is used for:

    • Booking and customer administration
    • Safety and emergency purposes
    • Legal and insurance requirements

    We may share your information with:

    • Our insurers in the event of an incident
    • Relevant authorities where required by law

    Your data will be stored securely and retained only for as long as necessary for legal, insurance, and operational purposes. You have the right to request access to your personal data and to request correction or deletion where applicable.

  • Helmet use is strongly recommended. If I choose not to wear a helmet, I acknowledge that I am declining the helmet offered and accept responsibility for that decision.

    • I have been shown how to correctly operate the bicycle, including:
      • Brakes
      • Gears
      • Steering and handling
    • I have been advised on basic road/path safety and expected conduct
    • I have had the opportunity to ask questions and am satisfied with the instructions provided
    • I understand how to adjust the bicycle to suit my comfort and safety

  • CONDITION OF EQUIPMENT

  • I confirm that:

    • I have inspected the bicycle and, if applicable, helmet
    • I am satisfied that the equipment appears to be in good working condition
    • I will report any faults immediately before use
