Please fill out the following form to apply for OAA's Art in Storefronts Program at the Goldberg Building in Downtown Olympia, WA.
This year’s theme, “Feast – Come Dine With Us,” invites artists to explore the many ways we gather, nourish, celebrate, and connect through food, community, culture, and shared experience.
Artists are encouraged to think expansively about the idea of a feast, from literal tables and meals to metaphorical expressions of abundance, belonging, storytelling, memory, ritual, and hospitality. Proposals may be whimsical, joyful, thought-provoking, surreal, community-centered, or culturally rooted. Installations might explore themes such as:
-Shared meals and human connection
-Cultural traditions and family recipes
-Harvest, growth, and seasonal abundance
-Food justice and access
-Celebration, gathering, and ritual
-Fantasy banquets or imagined worlds
-Olympia’s local food culture and community spirit
We suggest you VISIT THE SITE before submitting your proposal. This will enhance your understanding of the windows and their scale (reach out if you would like a tour). Please make sure you also read the entirety of the Call-For-Art before submitting your proposal.
*In this application you will need to include a mock up of your window proposal as well as at least one work sample. The mock up can be hand drawn or digitally generated but the jury needs to be able to get a sense of how your work will be presented.
