Daniel L. Lynch Pharmacy first opened its doors in 1941. Louis Andriotakis began working for Mr. Lynch at just 14 years old at the downtown Newburyport location on the corner of Essex Street and State Street. After the New Year’s fire of 1954, the store was relocated to its High Street location, where it continued to serve the community for decades.
In 1964, Louis and his wife, Stella, purchased the pharmacy from Mrs. Lynch. Together, they proudly served generations of families and built lasting friendships within the community.
Since Louis’s passing on January 9, 2026, local pharmacist Alex Doyle, owner of Conley’s Pharmacy in Ipswich, has graciously helped keep the pharmacy operating so that our customers could continue to receive the care and service they depend on.
After 85 wonderful years, the time has come for Daniel L. Lynch Pharmacy to close its doors. This decision was not made lightly. Serving this community has been an honor and a privilege. We cannot fully express how much we will miss all of you. We truly believe we have had the best customers in the world.
