Policies & Conditions
(1) Right to Reclaim: Peachy Day Farms Rescue reserves the right to reclaim any adopted pet if we suspect misconduct, neglect, or abuse, with or without prior notice. The adopter agrees to surrender the pet immediately upon request. (2) Adoption Fee: All adoptions require a fee that helps cover the costs of veterinary care, vaccinations, and other expenses incurred by the rescue. This fee is non-refundable and varies by pet. (3) Spay/Neuter Policy: All pets must be spayed or neutered before final adoption is completed unless otherwise agreed upon by Peachy Day Farms Rescue. (4) Follow-Up: Peachy Day Farms Rescue may conduct follow-up checks to ensure the well-being of the adopted pet. This may include phone calls or home visits. (5) Pet Care: Adoptive families are required to provide proper food, clean water, shelter, exercise, and veterinary care for their pet. (6) Emergency Preparedness: Adoptive families should have a plan in case of emergencies, including identifying a veterinarian and having a backup caregiver. (7) Behavioral Support: Please note that Peachy Day Farms Rescue does not provide behavioral support after the adoption. It is the responsibility of the adopter to seek help from a qualified trainer or behaviorist if needed. (8) Background Check: I authorize Peachy Day Farms Rescue to conduct a background check, which may include a review of criminal records, past interactions with animal rescues, and other relevant information. This check is to ensure the safety and well-being of the animals in our care. I understand that this background check is a standard part of the adoption process and agree to cooperate fully. I acknowledge that my adoption application may be declined based on the findings of this background check. I understand that the results of the background check will be kept confidential and used solely for the purpose of evaluating my suitability as an adopter.
Special Considerations
(1) House Training: The Adopter/Foster agrees to provide proper house training for the dog, using consistent and positive reinforcement techniques. (2) Exercise Needs: The Adopter/Foster understands that dogs require regular exercise and agrees to provide daily walks, play time, and mental stimulation appropriate for the dog's breed and age. (3) Barking and Behavior: The Adopter/Foster agrees to address barking and other behavioral issues using positive reinforcement and, if necessary, seek the assistance of a professional dog trainer or behaviorist. (4) Nutrition: The Adopter/Foster agrees to provide a balanced diet appropriate for the dog's age, health, and activity level. Fresh water should be available at all times. (5) Health and Wellness: The Adopter/Foster agrees to schedule regular veterinary check-ups and ensure that the dog is up-to-date on vaccinations and preventative treatments such as flea, tick, and heart worm medications. (6) Leash and Identification: The Adopter/Foster agrees to keep the dog on a leash during walks and outings and to provide proper identification tags, including the dog's name, owner's contact information, and any required licenses.
