• About the GRC Honors and Awards

The GRC Awards recognize distinguished colleagues in the geothermal community from around the world and have been a highlight of the geothermal calendar since the late 1970s.

5 awards will be honored every year: Joseph W. Aidlin Award, Geothermal Pioneer Award, Henry J. Ramey Jr. Geothermal Reservoir Engineering Award, Ben Holt Geothermal Power Plant Award, and Jim Bose Heat Pump Award.

The following awards will be honored every other year on alternating basis: Thermal Horizons Award, Rising Together Award, Oustanding Research Award, Young Professional Award - Technical, Young Professional Award - Leadership, and Geothermal Special Achievement. This year we will be awarding: Thermal Horizons Award, Rising Together Award, and Young Professional Award - Technical.

The recipients of these awards have significant achievements in the geothermal academic, scientific, and commercial communities. The award winners will be recognized during the 2026 Geothermal Rising Conference (GRC) in Houston, TX.
