WHAT'S NOT INCLUDED:

• Transportation to and from Villa Sumaya (airfare, shuttles, boat, etc.). Clear directions and transport suggestions will be provided.
• Spa Treatments or other wellness services such as:
  Massage services
  Tarot & Astrology readings
  Mayan cosmology readings
• Any paid activities or excursions you may choose to engage in, particularly on your open day. Boat ride costs to other villages (about 25 Quetzales or $3).
  Tours available to explore the surrounding area
  Kayak or SUP board rental
  Sauna rental 
• Meal Add-ons and Snacks:
  Protein add-ons such as chicken or fish
  Other foods available during the day for extra cost: Smoothies, juices, cacao drinks and snacks.
• Staff tips at the end of the week (approx. $66-$88 total)

 

*PLEASE NOTE! Double occupancy pricing is based on two participants sharing a room. If a roommate is not secured, the single occupancy rate will apply.

Please read through this Payment and Terms of Agreement carefully and understand they are non-negotiable.

1) Your deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable.
2) Upon reserving a spot with your deposit, you will receive an invoice for the remainder of your payment.

a) The balance is due within 8 weeks of the invoice OR 10 weeks prior to the start of the retreat (January 30, 2027), whichever date comes first.

b) Payment plans during those 8 weeks are encouraged and can be coordinated with host.

c) Payment not received within this time frame is subject to reservation cancellation by the host in addition to loss of deposit.

3) Reservations made at 8 weeks or less of the retreat date (on or after February 13, 2027) require full payment upon booking.  

a) Upon reservation with your registration, if you only pay with your non-refundable deposit, you will be invoiced for the remaining balance due.

b) Payment not received within 48 hours of this invoice request is subject to reservation cancellation in addition to loss of deposit.

4) Cancellation policy after full payment has been received:

a) Cancellations made prior to February 13, 2027 (greater than 8 weeks before the retreat) will receive a 50% refund of funds excluding the non-refundable deposit.

b) Cancellations made between February 13, 2027 and February 27, 2027 (6-8 weeks before the retreat) will receive a 25% refund of funds excluding the non-refundable deposit.

c) Cancellations made after February 27, 2027 (less than 6 weeks before the retreat) are non-refundable.

d) Any non-refunded portions retained by the host are non-transferable.

e) Refunds may take up 2-3 weeks to process and complete.

5) All double occupancies will be fulfilled to the best of the host's ability. However, if the second space cannot be filled, you will be responsible for the single occupancy rate which is an additional $600.

6) The host reserves the right to increase or decrease the price of the retreat at any time. This will not affect or alter the advertised price you have agreed to pay at the time of your reservation.

7) The retreat host reserves the right to cancel, postpone, or modify the retreat due to unforeseen circumstances including but not limited to insufficient enrollment, venue issues, illness, political instability, natural disasters, acts of God, force majeure events, or other circumstances beyond the host’s control. In such cases, any refunds issued shall be limited to payments received by the host and shall not include airfare, travel expenses, or other participant-incurred costs.

8) You are strongly encouraged to purchase travel/cancellation insurance to cover any illness, injury or other emergency or situation that may prevent you from attending the retreat after booking.

a) We strongly recommend that you purchase a policy that includes a “cancel for any reason” rider option.

b) Typically, trip insurance must be purchased at or near the time of registration in order to qualify for full coverage benefits.

This agreement shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of North Carolina, USA, regardless of any conflict of law principles.

Electronic Signatures: In the execution of this Agreement, I agree that my digital or electronic signature is the legally binding equivalent of a manual signature and I waive any legal right to challenge its validity.

By signing this Waiver & Release of Liability, I acknowledge that I have been informed of the nature, purpose, and activities of the Soulpower Rising Retreat and my stay at Villa Sumaya Retreat Center through the Soulpower Living website, Villa Sumaya website, registration materials, direct communication with retreat host Misa Terral, and/or this document.

I understand that the retreat may include physical movement and dance, Light Body Activation (LBA), meditation, breathwork, singing and song circles, traditional indigenous ceremonies, and other experiential practices intended to support personal growth, self-exploration, and spiritual development.

I acknowledge that I have reviewed, or have had the opportunity to review, any additional waivers, disclosures, or contraindications related to Light Body Activation, Soulpower Dance, and related retreat activities. They can be found here and here, respectively.

I understand that Light Body Activation, movement practices, meditation, breathwork, energy work, and other complementary wellness modalities are not a substitute for medical, psychological, or psychiatric diagnosis, treatment, or care. I acknowledge that no healthcare, psychotherapy, counseling, medical treatment, or mental health services are being provided during this retreat and understand that I should consult an appropriately qualified healthcare provider regarding any physical, mental, emotional, or psychological condition. 

I understand that participation in this retreat may involve physical, emotional, psychological, energetic, and spiritual experiences that can at times be intense, challenging, or unpredictable. I acknowledge that no guarantees or representations have been made regarding any healing, transformation, personal growth, or specific outcomes.

I understand that Light Body Activation and intensive transformational retreat environments may not be appropriate for individuals experiencing certain psychiatric or psychological conditions, including but not limited to psychosis, schizophrenia, active mania, severe dissociative states, suicidal ideation, or other conditions that may impair emotional regulation, reality testing, judgment, or personal safety. I agree to disclose any condition that may affect my safe participation and understand that the facilitator reserves the right to decline or limit participation if deemed necessary for the safety and well-being of myself or the group.

I understand that participation in all retreat activities is voluntary and that I may choose not to participate in any activity at any time. I accept full responsibility for my decisions and participation throughout the retreat.

I voluntarily assume all risks associated with my participation and expressly release, waive, and discharge Misa Terral, Soulpower Living, retreat assistants, representatives, contractors, Villa Sumaya Retreat Center, and their respective owners, employees, agents, and assigns from any and all claims, liabilities, demands, damages, actions, causes of action, costs, or expenses arising out of or related to my participation in the retreat, use of retreat facilities, accommodations, transportation, ceremonies, activities, or related events, except where prohibited by law.

I further agree to indemnify and hold harmless Misa Terral, Soulpower Living, retreat assistants, representatives, Villa Sumaya Retreat Center, and their respective owners, employees, agents, and assigns from any claims, actions, damages, losses, or expenses resulting from my actions, conduct, or participation during the retreat.

I understand that participation in an international retreat in Guatemala carries inherent risks, including but not limited to illness, injury, food-related illness, transportation delays or disruptions, theft, weather events, natural disasters, political or civil unrest, limitations in local medical care, acts of God, and other circumstances beyond the control of the retreat host. I voluntarily assume full responsibility for these risks.

I represent that I am in sufficient physical, emotional, and mental health to participate safely in retreat activities and that I have no condition that would create an unreasonable risk of harm to myself or others.

In the event of illness, injury, accident, or emergency during the retreat, I authorize Misa Terral, retreat representatives, and/or Villa Sumaya staff to arrange appropriate medical care on my behalf if I am unable to do so myself. I understand that I am solely responsible for all costs associated with medical care, transportation, evacuation, lodging, or related expenses.

I acknowledge that I am solely responsible for my personal belongings, travel documents, medications, valuables, and personal safety throughout the retreat and related travel.

I understand that my registration and payment constitutes a commitment to participate in the retreat. If I choose to cancel prior to the retreat, refunds will be governed solely by the published cancellation policy. If I leave the retreat early or discontinue participation for any reason, refunds, transfers or credits will not be given.

I agree to communicate concerns, discomforts, or conflicts directly and respectfully with the retreat host whenever possible so that supportive resolution may be attempted within the retreat container.

I understand that portions of the retreat may be photographed, filmed, or recorded for educational, archival, or promotional purposes. If I do not wish to appear in promotional media, I agree to notify Misa Terral in writing prior to the start of the retreat.

This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of North Carolina, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Electronic Signatures: I agree that my electronic or digital signature shall have the same legal force and effect as an original handwritten signature, and I waive any right to challenge its validity.

BY SIGNING BELOW, I ACKNOWLEDGE THAT I HAVE CAREFULLY READ THIS WAIVER, RELEASE OF LIABILITY, AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK AGREEMENT. I UNDERSTAND ITS CONTENTS, VOLUNTARILY AGREE TO ITS TERMS, AND UNDERSTAND THAT I AM GIVING UP CERTAIN LEGAL RIGHTS BY SIGNING IT.
