The immigration medical process may involve several components depending on your visa type, age, previous medical history, and Immigration NZ requirements. This can include:
- Medical examination
- Blood tests
- Urine testing
- Vision testing
- Chest X-ray
- Specialist reports or additional investigations
Blood tests are generally completed through Awanui Labs, located next to our clinic, while chest X-rays are performed at a nearby radiology provider. Please note that fees for these services are separate from ours and payable at the provider.
At your appointment, the doctor will review your medical history, complete the required examination, and arrange any necessary testing. Once all required results and reports have been received, your immigration medical will be reviewed and submitted electronically to Immigration New Zealand through eMedical.
Requirements for your appointment:
- Your original passport (no photocopies)
- Glasses or contact lenses (if worn)
- Any Immigration NZ correspondence
- Existing NZER/eMedical number (if applicable)
- Any relevant specialist reports or medication information
If you are pregnant, require an interpreter, or have previously completed an immigration medical, please advise us prior to your appointment.
