Join Roberto Saletti for an immersive hands-on workshop exploring both the fundamentals and expressive possibilities of traditional darkroom photography. In the first part of the workshop, participants will learn the essential techniques of creating black-and-white photographic prints in the darkroom — from working with negatives and using an enlarger, to exposing photographic paper, developing prints in chemical baths, and properly drying the final image. This introductory session is designed to give participants a clear understanding of the classic darkroom process and the magic of transforming a negative into a finished print by hand.
The second part of the workshop offers a rare opportunity to witness Roberto Saletti personal artistic approach to large-format darkroom printing. Participants will observe the creative techniques he uses to shape and manipulate light during the printing process, including his expressive method of “painting with light” to create atmosphere, depth, and emotion within an image. This live demonstration reveals the darkroom not only as a technical space, but as a powerful artistic medium where photography becomes a handcrafted and highly personal form of visual expression.
