About the 2026 Graduate Student Travel Awards
The DOV is pleased to announce two Graduate Student Travel Awards ($500 each) to help graduate students with ASC travel to Chicago. Applications containing all materials referenced below will be assessed by the DOV Awards Committee based on merit and need as described in the personal statement. Recipients of each award will be made aware that they have won the award by early October. All materials must be submitted by Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be current graduate students at institutions of higher education within the United States.
- The graduate student’s research focus must be on victimology.
- Applicants must submit evidence of conference participation (e.g., abstract acceptance, award, roundtable).
- Applicants must be current members of the DOV.
- Applicants are expected to attend the award ceremony.
Required Application Materials
1) Evidence of ASC 2026 conference participation (e.g., abstract acceptance, award, roundtable)
2) A 500-word personal statement about the importance of the award and how it will support the student’s career path, especially in the field of victimology
3) Current CV/resume
