• AAAR Student Assistant Application - 2026

A limited number of Student Assistant positions will be available for individuals interested in working at the AAAR 2026 Annual Conference. Once we have received enough applications to fulfill the needs of the conference, the application process will be closed. Assistants perform a variety of important tasks that ensure the smooth functioning of tutorial and platform sessions. You will be required to assist with two (2) tutorials and monitor four (4) sessions at the conference. In return for this service, student assistants may attend two (2) additional tutorials at no charge.
  • Please wait to register for the conference until you receive a response from the student application process. This way, you will know which 2 tutorials you have been assigned to cover. We also will provide you with a discount code to grant complimentary access to 2 additional tutorials of your choosing. In addition, we will provide you with a code that locks in the Early Bird Registration price.

    Criteria:

    1. Students MUST attend the student assistant orientation on Monday morning, October 26, 2026, from 8:00 - 8:30 AM at the Pasadena Conference Center in Pasadena, California, USA. If you are not present at the meeting, you will not be able to attend tutorials on Monday, October 26, and you will not be able to participate as an assistant during the week.
    2. Students MUST be prompt and agree to be present for the entire time during the two (2) tutorials and the four (4) platform sessions to which they are assigned. Note that volunteer positions will also be available to assist at the Registration Desk as well as during the Monday evening Career Fair from 5:30 - 7:30 PM and lunch for Tutorial Attendees from 11:45 AM - 12:15 PM.
    3. Students MUST stay for the entire conference and be available to work the final session on Friday, October 30 from 9:45 - 10:45 AM.

  • If you apply to be a student assistant and consequently fail to perform your duties, your advisor will be notified. Further, if you attend tutorials on Monday and fail to fulfill your commitment throughout the week, you will be charged the student on-site tutorial fee ($249). There will be a required daily check-in at the registration desk in Pasadena for all student assistants.
