  • Leadership and Management

  • The Executive Director is responsible for overall organizational leadership, including setting clear priorities, building and guiding a high performing staff team, and fostering a healthy, inclusive culture. They translate board approved strategy into actionable plans, set and monitor performance expectations, make data informed decisions, and develop staff capacity.

  • Staff Support, Development, and Workplace Culture

  • The Executive Director’s responsibility to the staff includes support of mutually agreed upon goals, professional development, and an inclusive and respectful workplace environment.

  • Communications and Transparency

  • The Executive Director will be a strong verbal and written communicator fluently able to explain why decisions are made and how the team should be implementing those decisions. They should share information that affects the staff in a timely, open manner.

  • Financial Management

  • The Executive Director oversees the integrity of financial systems, budgets and procedures, and ensures timely and accurate reporting and allocation of funds and expenditures. They will provide transparency to the staff around the financial health of the organization.
