Use of Name and Logo
The club is authorized to use Club America’s name, acronym, and logo in conjunction with the club's name. Turning Point USA (TPUSA) will be the sole owner of the Club America name, acronym, and logo. Individual club logos must be be designed and provided by TPUSA.
Chapter Name
Clubs will be named, “Club America at [School Name].” Clubs are expected to use their official name for social media accounts, bank accounts, advertising, and all other promotional purposes.
Chapter Obligations
In order to remain an active TPUSA charter the group must:
- Maintain an Executive Board/Officer Team with at least three (3) positions: President, Vice President, and Treasurer. More positions may be required by the club's school.
- Organize at least one (1) activism initiative per academic semester.
- Remain in good standing and communication with a TPUSA Field Representative on a regular basis.
- Participate in the verification process set forth by TPUSA HQ. Executive members should respond to all verification messaging and complete a welcome activism kit order request for the current school year.
- Adhere to TPUSAs Code of Conduct and ensure all operations are in accordance to 501(c)(3) guidelines.
Club Code of Conduct
TPUSA clubs are expected to adhere to the following conduct expectations:
- TPUSA clubs may never endorse any candidates running for public office. Leaders of the chapter may endorse candidates in their personal time, but may not do so on behalf of the chapter.
- TPUSA clubs may never campaign for political candidates or aid political campaigns in any manner (for example: donate or raise funds, recruit campaign volunteers, share/create partisan social media messages etc.)
- Leaders of the club may do these activities in their personal time, but may not do so on behalf of the chapter.
- TPUSA clubs may never advocate in support of or opposition to ballot measures or pending legislation at the local, state or national levels in any manner (for example: donate or raise funds, recruit campaign volunteers, share/create partisan social media messages etc.). Leaders of the club may do these activities in their personal time, but may not do so on behalf of the chapter.
- TPUSA clubs may never host a speaker on campus without approval from TPUSA’s national headquarters. The application to host a speaker can be found at tpusastudents.com/requestaspeaker.
- TPUSA clubs must adhere to all policies, and are responsible for the understanding of the information provided in the TPUSA Chapter Handbook.
Turning Point USA’s 501(c)(3) Status
Turning Point USA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that seeks to educate students about limited government and capitalism. 501(c)(3) organizations are non-partisan and prohibited from campaigning or helping political candidates or advocating for or against specific legislation and ballot measures directly or indirectly. TPUSA chapters who participate in campaign activities of any kind may jeopardize TPUSA’s 501(c)(3) status. Chapters found participating in campaign activities will be disassociated immediately.
Right to Disassociation
If this club is found to be operating outside of the guidelines outlined by Turning Point USA, and/or leaders or members of the club participate in activities or demonstrate conduct deemed inappropriate by Turning Point USA, and/or activity on the club's social media contains content or actions deemed inappropriate by Turning Point USA or contrary to the positions of the National Organization, TPUSA then reserves the right to disassociate with the club and revoke the group’s right to operate under the TPUSA name. TPUSA also reserves the right to dissociate from any club that fails to communicate with the National Organization. Any determination of disassociation shall be a final and unilateral action of the National Organization completed with or without any input of the chapter and at the sole discretion of Turning Point USA.
