HOPE² - Heroic Homeschoolers Offering Opportunities to Purposefully Pursue and Enhance Education

I understand that HOPE² is a Christian homeschool co-op which strives to be God-honoring in its classes and activities. All classes are presented with a Christian Worldview.

I understand that as a member I will need to sign a statement that I will abide by and not dispute the Governing Values and Statement of Faith contained in this document.

I understand that HOPE² uses the website www.hope2kg.com and the Band/Band for Kidsapp/website to communicate and register for classes. I will only have access to HOPE² when my paperwork and fees are up to date. I understand that it is my responsibility to monitor these resources for information about class changes and cancellations as well as communication from leadership and teachers.

I understand that I must join the website and pay membership fees ahead of time to register for classes and receive communications.

I understand that if I experience issues related to my device or internet access, or if I encounter any other barriers to receiving HOPE² communications it is my responsibility to communicate this to the director of HOPE² so that she can work with me to ensure adequate communication regarding cancellations, classes, meetings, and other activities.

I understand that HOPE² is a volunteer run organization and all families are required to serve and support the community either through teaching or fulfilling a service duty. Required service duties include serving as a hall monitor and participating in weekly cleanup.*

*To promote stewardship, accountability, and to foster a servant's heart in our students it is expected that students provide the labor to clean up under the supervision of their parents. This is meant to be a family service duty, not merely a parent service duty.

I understand that barriers to participating in this way must be communicated to the director of HOPE² and/or the service duty coordinator so they can facilitate service duty opportunities that best suit my situation.

I understand that functioning as “Drama Mama” or “Drama Papa” during play season is separate and does not fulfill my service duty responsibility for the year.

I understand that I must pay fees which consist of a minimal insurance premium for classes/activities, and an administration fee to participate in HOPE².

I understand insurance will only cover HOPE² members during designated class/club times at their designated locations.

I understand there is an administrative fee per family that covers our state fees, website fees and a church fee to help cover costs incurred by the church in hosting our community such as electricity and paper product usage. Before making any decisions regarding increasing operating costs for facility use, the Board will bring it to a vote by members of HOPE².

I understand that children and teachers must be fever free without medications for a minimum of 24 hours before returning to the co-op.

I understand that HOPE² is not a drop off co-op. I must remain on site or find an adult who is willing to take responsibility for my child while they are participating in classes and activities.

  • HOPE² GOVERNING VALUES and STATEMENT OF FAITH:

  • Families participating with HOPE² need to sign that they will abide by and not dispute the Governing Values and Statement of Faith below. (For participating families this is not necessarily a statement of belief.)

Teachers and Board Members of HOPE² will need to sign that they agree with and believe the below Governing Values and Statement of Faith.

    *  We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

    *  We believe Jesus Christ, born of a virgin, is God come in the flesh. His death provides substitutionary atonement for our sins. He literally rose bodily from the dead and will literally come to earth again.

    *  We believe the Bible in its entirety (all 66 books of the Old and New Testament) is the infallible, inspired Word of God and will be the only scriptures used during co-op.

    *  We believe in, and accept by faith, the Genesis account of creation.

    *  We believe man is by nature sinful and is inherently in need of salvation, which is exclusively found by faith alone in Jesus Christ and His shed blood. Personal salvation comes to mankind by grace through faith.

    *  We believe in a literal heaven and a literal hell.

    *  We believe the Bible defines marriage as being between one man and one woman.

    *  We believe that God created mankind in His own image as male and female; sex/gender is determined by God at conception as part of His wonderful and masterful design. The sexes are to be celebrated as unchangeable and complementary to each other with differing roles and responsibilities but equal in value.

Jesus replied, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind…And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself."

    Matthew 22:37-39

The HOPE² Board’s actions and decisions will be governed by these agreed-upon values.

As members participating in classes and activities, I agree my family will abide by and not dispute the Governing Values and Statement of Faith of the HOPE² co-op listed above, while attending co-op classes, events, or in HOPE² communications.

  • HOPE² Student Expectations and Dress Code

Must be read by and acknowledged by all Parent/Guardians and students!
  • HOPE² Student Expectations:
As a student attending classes as part of HOPE²

I will treat all teachers, adult volunteers, location personnel, and fellow students with courtesy and respect. I will also treat the facility with respect and clean up after myself; I will encourage my classmates to do the same.

I will stay in areas supervised by adults. If I drive myself to class, I understand that an adult must be responsible for me while I am participating in HOPE² classes and activities, if no adult is specifically responsible for me, I will not loiter on the premises.

I will bring in assigned work and all materials necessary for my classes. I will participate in class in a productive way and not be disruptive, following all classroom rules designated by my teacher. I understand that it is my responsibility to learn the material covered and get assignments from the teacher or classmates if I miss class.

I agree that it is my responsibility to follow the dress code and that violation of the dress code may be subject to disciplinary action.

I understand that it is my responsibility to self-govern my thoughts, words, and actions at all times. I am a representative of HOPE², but more importantly a representative of Jesus Christ, and an example to unbelievers who may be observing me.

“Teach these things and insist that everyone learn them. Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young.  Be an example to all believers in the way you live, in your love, in your faith, and your purity.” 1 Timothy 4:11,12

I understand that failure to meet these expectations may be subject to disciplinary action by the board in addition to my parents.

    Dress code:

The Dress Code applies to all participants of HOPE², students and adults alike, at all HOPE² activities regardless of location. Participants of HOPE² must remain covered from their shoulders to their knees.  Shorts, including athletic shorts, must be no shorter than one hand length (fingertips to wrist) above the knee.  No spaghetti strap, off the shoulder or midriff tops. Tank tops may be permissible as long as undergarments and cleavage are covered. No leggings except under a skirt and no pajama bottoms. To the neck T-shirts and long shorts, capris, jeans, or knee-length or longer skirts are preferred. Little girls should wear shorts underneath skirts to protect them during position changes. Formal Prom attire may be taken on a case-by-case basis. Individuals found to be in violation of the dress code will be offered the choice of covering up or going home.

If a student needs to be spoken to more than once, there will be a conversation with that student’s parents. If dress code violations continue, there will be a meeting with the student and parent(s) with the board to discuss disciplinary action.
