Audition — August 9, 2026. All performers required to attend unless with a provided exception, in which case they may submit a video audition.
Performance Guidelines
1. Performances should highlight Indian culture, of traditional, folk, classical, patriotic, or ethnic themes. Diversity in styles is encouraged.
2. Registrations will be accepted in the order they are received.
3. Photo release is required for all performers.
4. Preference may be given to performances with strong cultural relevance, creativity, and originality.
5. Items with overlapping songs or themes may be waitlisted to maintain program variety.
6. Group performances will be prioritized over solos. A "group" is a performance with 4+ participants.
7. Each performer may participate in up to two performances.
8. Dance schools may submit up to two performances. ICA may cap entries from any dance school or community organization based on overall registration volume. Dance Coordinators/Choreographers must ensure compliance with both the maximum number of performers and performance limits.
9. Children under 15 may not perform solo. For adults, group performances are strongly encouraged.
10. Below are the max durations for performances, based on performer count.
- 4 or fewer performers — 5 minutes
- 5-9 performers — 6 minutes
- 10+ performers — 8 minutes
- Solo vocal performances — 3 minutes
11. ICA reserves the right to adjust schedules and performance approvals as needed.
12. I acknowledge and agree that participation in India Festival 2026 involves inherent risks, including but not limited to personal injury, property loss or damage, and unforeseen circumstances. I, on behalf of myself and all performers in my group (including minors), hereby release, waive, and hold harmless the India Cultural Association of Portland (ICA), its officers, volunteers, directors, and agents from any and all claims, damages, losses, or liabilities arising from or related to participation in this event. I confirm I have the authority to agree to this release on behalf of all listed performers.
