Join other horse crazy adults for a weekend of horses, learning, and friends. All levels of riders are welcome to attend. Lessons will be adjusted to target each students' level and goals.
We will kick off the weekend Friday afternoon with dressage lessons with Katherine Abrams. Your ride time will be adjusted to accomodate your work schedule. We will conclude our day with dinner and horseback karoke. Saturday we will start the day learning how to care for our equine friends, including practicing how we read equine body language and use equine hierarchy to improve our ability to care for our four-legged friends. Then we will will work with Caryn Switzer on groundpoles/jumping. After lunch, we will learn about how we use TPR, body weight, and body condition scoring to monitor our horses' well-being. Later in the afternoon we will play with our horses on obstacles. Sunday morning we will work with Crash Proof Crossfit to improve our strength and mobility, afterwards we will evaluate equine movement and soundness, then head to the field to gain confidence in our ability to ride outside of the ring. We will wrap up the weekend with lunch together and recap all that we learned.
Cost: $450; $75 discount for boarders and lessees. Cost includes all mounted and unmounted instruction, hand-outs, dinner Friday and lunch on Sunday
