  • Are you comfortable being matched with a WIT Mentee majoring in a tech field that is different that your current area of expertise (i.e. Mentee is a mechanical engineering major and you work in IT)?*
  • Are you willing to be a WIT Mentoring Group Leader? (WIT Mentoring Group Leaders will be asked to coordinate the Mentoring Group meetings by establishing dates, times and locations (virtual or in-person) for the groups to ensure ongoing success.)*
  • MENTOR COMMITMENT STATEMENT

    As a Mentor in the Women In Tech Mentoring Program, I understand that my participation and commitment to the program are essential to creating a meaningful and impactful experience for my Mentee(s):
  • GuidanceĀ and Commitment:

    • I will share my knowledge, experiences, and perspectives to support the personal and professional growth of my Mentee(s).
    • I will serve as a positive role model, fostering an environment of encouragement, respect, and trust.
    • I will schedule and attend at least one meeting per month with my assigned Mentee(s) to ensure consistent and meaningful engagement.

    Training and Events:

    • I will participate in the WIT Mentor Training to gain a comprehensive understanding of the program, my role as a Mentor, and the resources available to support my Mentee(s).
    • I will participate in the WIT Mentoring Program kick-off event to establish connections with my Mentee(s), fellow Mentors, and program participants.
    • I will attend the WIT Mentoring Program wrap-up event to celebrate the accomplishments of participants and reflect on the mentoring experience.

    Mentoring Group Leadership:

    • I will actively participate in and co-facilitate my assigned WIT Mentoring Group, working collaboratively with fellow Mentors to create engaging and meaningful discussions around the monthly program topics.
    • I will contribute to a welcoming and inclusive environment where all participants feel comfortable sharing ideas, asking questions, and learning from one another.

    Communication and Accessibility:

    • I will maintain open and professional communication with my Mentee(s), providing guidance, encouragement, and support throughout the program.
    • I will make reasonable efforts to be available between scheduled meetings when my Mentee(s) need advice, feedback, or assistance.

    Feedback and Collaboration:

    • I will provide constructive feedback to my Mentee(s) to support their development and growth.
    • I will share feedback with program organizers to help strengthen and enhance the mentoring experience for future participants.
    • I will collaborate with fellow Mentors and program leaders to contribute to a positive and successful program experience.

    Personal Investment:

    • I recognize that meaningful mentoring requires time, presence, and intentional engagement. I commit to investing in the success of my Mentee(s) and contributing to a supportive community that empowers the next generation of women in technology.
