    Separate form required for each horse. This Natural Trail Challenge event is open to all breeds of horses and competitors. English or Western attire, tack and equipment are required. Natural obstacles are designed to replicate those you would encounter on a trail ride, and tasks you may be required to perform. This could include riding through water, over hills, logs, carry/move objects, side pass, back up, jog, lope (both leads) & drag objects. Each obstacle will be judged and scored on your horse’s attitude, willingness, and ability to complete all obstacles correctly and efficiently.

                       Any handler with any horse may be in this division and send or lead through the obstacles.

                      Minimum of 12 (born 2014) to maximum of 18 (born 2008) years of age.

                      GREEN HORSE

                      Horses in their first year of competing in obstacle challenges or have shown in a previous

                      year but have not placed in any trail classes. Eligible for one year. May also enter other divisions.

                      NOVICE RIDER

                      Rider cannot have won 3 classes prior to the challenge on June 20, 2026 in any organized

                      obstacle challenge competition. A Novice rider must be at least 12 years of age (born 2014) and:

                      1. May not be a Pro or train horses and/or students for remuneration, either monetary or in kind;

                      2. May compete as a Novice for one calendar year only (January through December).

                      Riders who do not train horses and/or students for remuneration, either monetary or in kind.

                      SENIOR (50+)

                      Any rider 50 years or older as of June 20, 2026 (the first challenge) and is a Non-Pro.

                      JACKPOT

                      The jackpot class will be run as a Gambler’s Choice. Each obstacle will be assigned points based on

                      its degree of difficulty. You will have 3 minutes to do as many of the obstacles as you can but, you must be

                      through the finish timer line by the 3 minute mark. You can complete an obstacle twice, either direction. You

                      decide your own path around the course. If you complete an obstacle correctly you will receive the assigned points. If you do not complete the obstacle correctly or if the horse refuses points will be taken off your score. If you do not make it across the finish line in 3 minutes one point for every second over will be deducted from your score. The payout for the Jackpot class will be 85% to the riders. The Overall High Score from the Three Jackpot Challenges will receive a Buckle and payout as follows for each event.

                      Late entry fee

                      Register by midnight 3 days prior to competition to avoid a late registration fee of $30 per competitor. Late entries will be put at the top of the order of go for each division.

                      Register on event day from 8:00 – 10:00 am (late fee of $30 will be added).

                      You will receive an exhibitor number on event day. Please return numbers to the Announcer's booth at the end of each day or a $10 replacement fee will be added to entry fees.
