Position Description

You are applying to become a Handcrew Member with Lange Land Management. As a Handcrew Member, you will be responsible for assisting with a wide range of land management, fire prevention, vegetation management, and property maintenance operations. Duties may include fuel reduction, brush clearing, defensible space creation, irrigation system maintenance and repair, landscaping, debris removal, trail and access clearing, tool and equipment operation, and general labor tasks in outdoor environments.

Handcrew Members are expected to work safely, professionally, and efficiently as part of a coordinated crew. Employees may operate hand tools, chainsaws, power equipment, and assist with heavy equipment operations under qualified supervision. Work is often performed in rugged terrain, steep hillsides, high temperatures, dusty conditions, and other physically demanding environments.

Employees may also assist in emergency operations and wildfire response activities when necessary, including protecting property, supporting fire suppression efforts, establishing safety zones, clearing emergency access routes, and preparing landing zones for emergency responders and aircraft operations.
