    Please complete this form to indicate your participation in optional conference gatherings, evening programs, special exhibition tours, and facilitated Talking Circles. Due to room capacity limitations, all attendees are also asked to select their preferred Tuesday morning joint plenary session below.. Your responses will help us finalize transportation, catering, accessibility, and room logistics as we prepare to welcome you to Detroit for the 2026 CAJM & AHO Conference experience. Please read the instructions carefully to ensure you are completing the form correctly.

    The only required selections in this form are the two Tuesday morning lecture tracks. These joint plenary session selections are required due to room capacity limitations at this historic site. All remaining activities, tours, evening gatherings, and Talking Circles are optional. All attendees are asked to select one choice for each Tuesday morning track below. If we do not receive your selections by June 7, participants will be assigned to a conversation based on availability.

      • MID-CENTURY MODERN EVENING: A PRIVATE GATHERING

        Located minutes from The Zekelman Holocaust Center, step back in time and experience Mike Schon’s beautifully restored home and gardens whose art collection features Detroit natives. Detroit is one of the centers of mid-century modern design, and this home highlights that tradition. (Pre-registration for this event is required and space is limited.)

         

        DETROIT RIVERFRONT CONSERVANCY TOUR:

         

        Join conservationists at the newly opened Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Centennial Park, a 22-acre revitalized green space along Detroit’s west riverfront just outside downtown. This guided walking tour will explore a localized section of the Detroit Riverwalk beginning near the William Davidson Sport House and highlighting public art installations, including collaborations with the Detroit Institute of Arts’ Inside|Out program and Detroit’s celebrated graffiti and mural culture. Following the tour, enjoy a no-host dinner on your own in the walkable nearby Corktown neighborhood. Return to the hotel independently via car service, rideshare, or the free Detroit People Mover. This tour can be adapted for participants with limited mobility.

      • Bus Tour Downtown Detroit: All aboard for a Detroit Jewish history bus tour!

        Join JHSM (Jewish Historical Society of Michigan) for an engaging and interactive journey through the city's Jewish community, 1762-present. Sites of interest include former synagogue buildings, civic and automotive historical landmarks, historic neighborhoods, contemporary property redevelopment projects, and the Birwood Wall, Detroit's 1941 segregation wall.

      • SPECIAL CAJM TOUR WITH JMNY OR DIA CURATOR - GUESTS OF HONOR: ART OF FAITH

        Join a curator-led tour of the DIA exhibition Guests of Honor: Art of Faith, organized in partnership with the Jewish Museum, New York. The installation presents a selection of Jewish ceremonial objects, dating from the 1400s to the early 1900s, placed throughout the Detroit Institute of Arts’ encyclopedic collections. This presentation marks the ninth installment of the DIA’s Guests of Honor series, which highlights extraordinary works from around the world in dialogue with the museum’s holdings.

      • THE SHEPHERD EXPERIENCE: PUBLIC ART, MEMORY & PLACE

        Stay in the Detroit area until late afternoon and visit The Shepherd for a guided tour of this incredible former church transformed into an arts and outdoor space. The visit will highlight Olivia Guterson’s work, exploring intersectional identity and Jewish and Black diasporic roots, with a focus on her site-specific outdoor installation. The Shepherd is a cultural arts center and sculpture park in Detroit’s Little Village neighborhood, spearheaded by Library Street Collective. Lunch will be provided, along with return transportation to the hotel by 3:30 PM.
