Remote Loan Processor Application
Apply to join our team as a loan processor closing construction loans, fix and flip loans, DSCR loans, and non-qm loans.
I. Introduction
We are HML Investments — one of the fastest-growing construction lending brokerages in the country. Our processing team is the engine that takes signed deals across the finish line, often closing construction and bridge loans inside a 17-business-day window that most lenders can't touch. We're not looking for paper-pushers. We're looking for operators — detail-obsessed, calm under pressure, and able to coordinate borrowers, title companies, insurance agents, appraisers, and lender underwriters without dropping a single ball.
II. The Standard: Process Driven Excellence
Detail orientation. A missing initial, a wrong figure, a misspelled name — any of these can delay a closing and cost a builder their project window. You need to catch what others miss. Communication. You'll be the daily point of contact for builders, attorneys, title reps, and underwriters. Clear, calm, proactive communication is non-negotiable. Composure under pressure. Deals move fast. Issues come up. Underwriters push back. You need to stay calm, solve the problem, and keep the deal moving forward. System fluency. You'll work daily inside our CRM, loan origination software, and lender portals. Comfort with technology and willingness to learn new platforms is required. Remote discipline. This role is 100% remote. You need a quiet, professional workspace, reliable internet, and the self-discipline to perform at a high level without anyone looking over your shoulder.
III. The Hiring Process
Stage 1: Application & Loom Review. We review your written answers and your Loom submission for communication, presence, and clarity of thought. Stage 2: Video Interview Screen (15 minutes). A short video interview with our team to evaluate communication style, presence, and baseline fit. Stage 3: Practical Exercise. You'll be given a sample loan file scenario and asked to walk us through how you'd push it to closing. Stage 4: Final Interview & Offer. Final conversation with leadership. If selected, you'll start in our structured onboarding program.
IV. Performance Standards: Zero Tolerance
If hired, you'll be held to strict standards. We part ways with processors who: Let deals stall without proactive escalation, Miss errors that delay closings, Communicate poorly with borrowers or partners, Fail to keep files organized and up to date, Refuse coaching or repeat the same mistakes, Go dark or fail to maintain availability during business hours
V. Compensation & Expectations
Compensation: Competitive base + per-file processing bonus structure. Top processors earn more as their pod volume grows. Schedule: Full-time, 100% remote. You set up your own workspace, but you operate on U.S. business hours and stay accessible to the team and our partners throughout the day. Expectations: Manage a growing pipeline of active files, hit aggressive closing timelines, and maintain clean documentation throughout.
